On busy city street, people walked quickly past peach other, chasing their own dreams and worries. No one noticed the young girl sitting quietly on the cold sidewalk. Her clothes were simple, her backpack worn out, and her eyes filled with a sadness far deeper than her age.
Her name was Emily.
Years ago, Emily had a happy life. She lived with her loving parents in a small home filled with laughter. Her mother was kind and gentle, always telling her stories before bedtime and kissing her forehead every night. To Emily, her mother was the whole world.
But happiness did not last forever.
One cold winter night, Emily’s mother fell seriously ill. The doctors tried everything, but fate had already decided. Within days, Emily lost the person she loved most. Her small world shattered.
Her father tried to stay strong, but he changed after that. The house became silent and heavy with sadness. Months later, he remarried, hoping to rebuild a normal life.
At first, Emily believed things might become better again.
But they didn’t.
Her new stepmother never liked her. She saw Emily not as a daughter, but as a burden. Every small mistake became a reason to shout at her. The warmth that once filled the house disappeared.
One evening, after another argument, the stepmother said coldly,
“Your daughter cannot stay here anymore.”
Emily looked at her father, hoping he would defend her.
But he stayed silent.
That silence hurt more than any words.
That same night, Emily packed her small bag and left the only home she had ever known.
Now she sat on the sidewalk, watching the world pass by.
Not far away, her father walked down the street with his new wife, talking and laughing as if nothing had happened. They didn’t even notice the girl sitting just a few meters away — the girl who once called him “Dad.”
Tears slowly rolled down Emily’s face.
Sometimes the deepest pain doesn’t come from strangers.
It comes from the people who were supposed to love you forever. 💔 part 2....
